Some people have a thing for shoes, some a thing for purses, but for me it’s always been swimsuits. I’m not quite sure why – I think maybe it’s the swimmer in me, but who really knows. I grew up in Virginia and now live in Chicago so it’s not like there is a large need, but ask me the number one thing I like to scope out and it’s swimsuits.
Once I laid eyes on this Beach Riot one piece, it was game over! I love the vibrant color and floral pattern, plus the cutout is unique and flattering. I’m very much into the one piece scene, especially when it has something special to offer. I love a cute cutout, a fun open back, a wrap front, etc. For me, a one piece is the equivalent of building bunkbeds in Step Brothers – it provides so much room for activities 🙂
I also love me a high waisted bikini because, for me, it covers and shows the right things. You can be a stylish and classy lady.
Picking out swimsuits should be fun! Mostly because that means it’s almost spring/summer or you’re planning a vacation. At times, I fall into the trap of not appreciating my body the way I should when picking out swimsuits, which is why I always lean towards what suits (pun intended) me. There are so many cute styles out there, but some of them I just know I’m not going to be comfortable in. I always try to pick something that shows off what I love about my body (i.e. an open back or a high neck to accentuate the collarbone/shoulders), but won’t lead me to be self-conscious or overly critical of myself. Sometimes I just have to remind myself of all the things my body has been (and will be) capable of to bring me back into the right mindset.
Everyone should have a swimsuit that they love and that makes them feel good about themselves. I’ve tagged a few of my current favorites down below! Here’s to what I’m hoping will be the first of many swimsuit posts!
